Canva’s first Creatives Conference in Manila!

More than 800 young artists and designers attended the first Canva Creatives Conference at the SMX Mall of Asia last November 16 2014.

The first speaker was Canva CEO Melanie Perkins who talked about how it all started—in her mom’s living room. She also introduced Canva’s Layout Design Marketplace allowing pro designers to contribute their very own design templates and earn money.

Cameron Adams, CPO of Canva, was next to give a talk about change and how designers can help Canva make change in the world. He knows change so well because he used to pursue law before finally and completely saying yes to the world of design.

Witty local designers Christian San Jose of Create.ph and Dan Matutina of Plus63 Design Co. also gave inspirational talks on their work process and showed awesome works to everyone.

Former Chief Evangelist of Apple, Guy Kawasaki, who relived his famous title for Canva was the last one to give his talk.

All throughout the event, there were live painting sessions and freedom wall on the sides of the hall, making the event more fun and interactive.
