_ACOUSTIC: Sofar Sounds Manila

Global music movement Sofar Sounds celebrated its first anniversary in Manila with a packed, intimate gig at A SPACE Gallery, Greenbelt.

A SPACE Manila collaborated with Sofar Sounds Manila and welcomed 150+ guests at the Greenbelt Gallery for their 7th gig on October 18 2014.

Sofar Sounds is a non-profit global movement that started in London. Sofar Sounds is now the world’s largest live music discovery community; curating secret, intimate gigs in small venues like living rooms, garages, or any empty space conducive to listening to music. What is special about these Sofar Sounds gigs are two things: one, you have to sign up to be a part of the audience and two, the event venue and the line up are revealed three days before and at gig day respectively. The global movement have been known to showcase a mixture of independent and known acts where they perform stripped-down, acoustic versions of their songs in front of a small audience.

Sofar Sounds Manila invited Dearest, MOONWLK, and Barbie Almalbis to perform their beloved masterpieces to a very eager, music-lovin’ crowd!

Below are the event highlights:

New band ‘Dearest’ opened Sofar Sounds Manila’s first anniversary gig at A SPACE Gallery, Greenbelt. Gabbi Buencamino + Nick Lazaro of MOONWLK invited friends’
Kara Chung and Pat Sarabia to jam with them for the special night.
Barbie Almalbis ended the night performing her classic songs and new tracks from her latest album ‘My New Heart’
