A SPACE teams up with the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) in organizing a competition for developers, coders and techpreneurs to provide solutions to further boost export sourcing from Philippine SMEs. Winner/s get a cash prize of PHP 50,000

As the export promotions arm of the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), CITEM’s main mission is to develop, nurture, and promote globally-competitive small and medium enterprises (SMEs), exporters, designers, and manufacturers by carrying out an Integrated Approach to Export Marketing in partnership with other government and private groups.

What do I need to solve?

Before going thru the challenges, make sure you visit and explore CITEM’s page via to learn more about their projects and activities.

Challenge #1

With the goal to promote Philippines SMEs, suggest a platform/app solution that will encourage more buyers, both foreign and local, to source from Philippines companies/ exporters.

Challenge #2

CITEM organizes trade fairs, missions and other promotional programs to help Philippine SMEs promote their products in the international market. Create a way by which CITEM and SME exporters can continue to interact with buyers even after a trade event.

Challenge #3

CITEM organizes an average of 20 trade fairs a year, of which 2 are held in Manila and are CITEM’s banner events for the sectors promoted. Suggest a registration process for these banner events.

  • Relevance of the solution to the presented challenges (50%)
  • Uniqueness of the solution compared to the ones that are available in public (20%)
  • The use of Innovation & Technology in the Solution (30%)
